The Kissing Hand

We had a pleasant Wednesday in Room 203. We began the day with our morning activities and HWT. After Road to Reading, we had Writer's Workshop. We learned about revision. We said that writers know that "When we are done, we have just begun." We spent some time adding more ideas, words, letters, and pictures to our writing from yesterday. After snack and recess, we read "The Kissing Hand." During ELA Workshop, students worked with me to make a "kissing hand" picture. Students also worked to find the "C" sound and words independently.

It started raining, so we had indoor recess at lunch. After, we recited "Hickory, Dickory Dock" and had math. We focused on decomposing 3 using cubes and other manipulatives. Students saw how 1+2 and 2+1 represents 3.  To end the day, we had Second Step. Ms. J.C. and Mrs. Z helped lead a lesson on self talk and following directions. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, read a "Kissing Hand" sequel called "Chester Raccoon and the Big Bad Bully," and lined up for home.
