Homework

Here is an overview of the second grade homework for the 2023-2024 school year:

Second grade has a weekly homework packet, as directed by the district. Homework will be passed out on Friday and is due on the following Friday. While the goal is student independence on assignments, parents should monitor work and check it prior to turning it in on Friday. Assignments should arrive in your child's Home Folder on Friday and via email in my notes to families at the beginning of the week. 

Parents should also consider when and where they want their child to complete their homework. Setting up a regular work area in your home (desk or table) is very beneficial for most students. Also, decide whether you want to have your child complete work earlier over the weekend, or day by day during the week. See what works for you and your family, adjusting as needed.

We also will occasionally have special "At-Home" projects to complete. They will be related to class themes and topics and I will give multiple weekends to complete them. We usually present them in class as well. In past years, these included and "All About Me" poster, Family Treasures, our Dinosaur Project, and a Market Day product and advertisement.
