More With B, Prisms, and Road to Reading

We had a nice Tuesday in Room 203. We began the day with our morning activities and by continuing our look at prisms and the colors of a rainbow. At 8:40, we broke into groups for our first Road to Reading. Each group focuses on a skill to help your child. My group worked on phonemic awareness and syllables. When we returned , we finished our prism projects by creating a prism with construction paper and oil pastels to show light entering, bending, and then turning into a rainbow. They look cute! After snack and recess, we had ELA workshop. We read "Bubble Bear" before brainstorming more "B" words. Students worked on identifying "B" words while I pulled groups to practice "B" handwriting. Make sure your child works on good form, grip, and neatness with their handwriting at home.

After lunch, we recited our poem "Three Men in a Tub" and had our awesome Tuesday run of specials. We started by going to the library to check out new books. If you forgot yours today, please bring it in ASAP so that your child can check one out next week. Next we had Spanish with Sra. Colmenero. We learned new weather words. Finally, we had P.E. with Mr. Simatic. It was "Get Fast Day." We played "Keep Your Room Clean" and more games. Then we packed up, had some music and movement and then packed up for home.
