The Computer Lab

We had a great Thursday in Room 203. We began our day with our morning activities and HWT (Handwriting Without Tears). Then we made our first trip to the computer lab. Our class will be using a program called Lexia Core 5 to improved our reading, writing, and comprehension skills, among others. Students were super patient while we logged in (It's a complicated process the first time) and tried their best. I think we also enjoyed learning while playing games in the air conditioned computer lab, too. We will continue to visit on Thursdays, along with perhaps Mondays the rest of the year. I will send home some information later about how you can use the program at home. When we got back, we had snack and recess. We read "Chrysanthemum" before making name designs at ELA Workshop. Mr. Ricker also pulled students to see what letters they know.

After lunch, we recited "Three Men in a Tub," practiced letters and letter sounds, and read "B is for Bear." We also sang a silly song called "Allison's Camel."  At Music, Mrs. Hanson has us use different voices and finger cymbals in class. After a quick trip outside to enjoy the day, we had Spanish. The class learned more about color and weather words with Sra. Colmenero. When we got back to Room 203, we had Music and Movement and looked at books with a friend. Then we packed up and lined up for home.

Don't forget to finish and look over homework! Students should return packets and green homework folders tomorrow. Contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
