Colors
We had a nice Thursday in Room 203. We began the day with our morning activities, calendar, and handwriting. Then we read "Mouse Paint" and reviewed colors. At ELA workshop, my groups worked on mini-books called "My Crayon Box." They include all of the different colors we are studying. We will finish them tomorrow. Students also worked on matching like shapes on a school bus in small groups and had a chance to make a dot picture independently. After snack and recess, we had math. We finished lesson five by reviewing counting before classifying objects into three groups. We practiced as a class then worked in groups to sort and count objects that belong together.
After lunch, we had a quick afternoon. We recited our poem "Ring-Around the Rosies"and practiced some phonics skills. We went to Music with Miss Hanson and sang a lullaby to Teddy, sang a silly song with the ukelele and practiced using different voices. It was a beautiful afternoon, so we had a short recess before we had Spanish with Sra. Colmenero. In Spanish, students worked on color words and made an ice cream cone of colors. When we got back to Room 203, we packed up, had some music and movement, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
Be sure to finish and check over homework packets for tomorrow. They should be as neat and complete as possible. If you aren't finished or need help, please send me an email. Thanks!
