Pumpkin Guy and Pumpkin Girl

We had a fantastic Friday in Room 2. We began the day by collecting homework and having nutrition outside. Next, we took care of our morning activities and read the books "Pumpkin Faces" and "I Like Pumpkins." At language arts rotations, students worked on coloring and cutting out pieces for "Pumpkin Guy" or "Pumpkin Girl." My groups wrote a letter to our Star of the Week, which is me. The other groups had secret centers. We also had a few prospective parents tour our class during this time. I hope they enjoyed our room! After recess, we visited our friends in Room 21. Miss Yuki led us in singing some songs before the classes got to play or make a dot painting together. It was fun!

After lunch, we recited "Pease Porridge Hot" and did some rhyming. We also searched the room for Zero Heroes because it was the fortieth day of school. Then we finished up our "Pumpkin Guys" and Pumpkin Girls" by gluing everything together and folding and attaching some arms and legs. For Star of the Week, we estimated Super Star Sticks. The class made guesses between 14 and 99 sticks. There were 63 sticks. Zachary made the closest estimation of 66! For P.E., we went to the big yard and played with bouncy balls and jump ropes. When we got back to Room 2, we had a popcorn party!  The class ate a cup of popcorn while watching my favorite show when I was a kid. Then we packed up Friday Folders, awarded prizes for twenty Super Star Sticks, passed out certificates for an all-green week, and lined up for home.  Have a great weekend!
