Lines to Touch

We had a good Thursday in Room 2. We began the day, as always, with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read "Fox Makes Friends." At language arts rotations, students worked on more "F" phonics and words. My groups worked on a riddle book titled "The Little Red House." The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we practiced writing the numbers from 0 to 10 and reviewed chapter 2. We will assess our learning early next week.

After lunch, we recited "Three Little Kittens" and sang "I'm a Little Teapot." We also had art. We continued our unit on lines by creating lines that we can touch. We used glue to make a pattern of lines on Monday. Now that they are dried, we could actually feel them. To finish the project, we used oil pastels to color a pattern between the lines. They look great!  For P.E., we practiced bouncing a ball with a group, trying to make ten good passes in a row. We also had some free recess. To end the day, we colored in the pieces we need for "Apple Guy" or "Apple Girl." We will finish the project tomorrow at centers.  Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.

Don't forget to finish and check over homework for tomorrow!
