Apple Guy and Apple Girl

We had an exciting Friday in Room 2. We began the day by collecting homework and having Nutrition. Then we had our morning activities and read two books about apples. At language arts rotations, students made "Apple Guy" or "Apple Girl." We colored, cut, folded, and pasted them together. They look cool!  My groups illustrated a riddle book called "The Little Red House." The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we had music and play with Room 21. Ms. Yuki's class invited us to sing songs and then play with her students. It was fun!

After lunch, we found some Zero Heroes to mark the thirtieth day of school and recited "Three Little Kittens." We also read "Ten Little Apples" and had art. We cut, colored, and pasted together an apple puzzle. It was a little tricky, but we all finished. For P.E., we played with bouncy balls on the big yard. When we got back to Room 2, we had a popcorn party. We ate a cup of popcorn and watched more "Sam and Mat." After packing up, we ended the day with a birthday....mine!  Our very thoughtful (and generous) class parents brought homemade cupcakes, fruit, and drinks for myself and all the students. I also got many beautiful birthday cards and some class gifts! Wow! Thank you so much!  Finally, we got our things, passed out certificates for an all-green week, and lined up for home. Have a fantastic weekend!

Thanks again to everyone for the wonderful cards and gifts!  I appreciate them very much!

Also, don't forget that "All About Me" book s are due this Tuesday, October 6th.
