Friends, Apples, and Scooters

We had a good Wednesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read the book "Friends" and "H is for Horse." At language arts rotations, students worked on more "H" phonics and words. My groups wrote about friends in our kindergarten journals. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we had math. We worked on building, counting, writing, and identifying the number 20. So far, we have done very well in this chapter.

After recess, we recited "Pease Porridge Hot" and wrapped our theme of "Friends." We read "Friends All Around" and discussed friends as a group and as a Pair Share. We also read friend poems and covered some rhyming and sound skills. After some partner reading, we has science. We wrapped up our study of apples by reviewing what we know and by making apple art. They include all of the parts of an apple and look pretty cool! For Star of the Week, I shared my favorite book as a child, "Too Many Lollipops." At P.E., Coach Angel had the class use scooters. They rode forward, zig-zag, and backwards. After a water break, we ended the day with two stories in the library. Mrs. Singh read "Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire" and "Library Mouse." Then we put up our chairs, packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
