Broken Lines

We had a full Thursday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read "A Trip to the Apple Orchard" and reviewed what we know about apples. At language arts rotations, students sequenced pictures of the life cycle of an apple tree. We did a neat job!  My groups read "I See the Apple" and wrote about apples in our kindergarten journals. The other groups had the last secret center of this rotation. After recess, we had math. We worked on building and identifying the numbers 13 and 14.

After lunch, we recited "Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary" and sang "I'm a Little Teapot." Then we had art. We continued our study of lines by looking at art that has broken lines in it. For our project, students drew a picture before using small pieces of construction paper to create broken lines. They look cool! We shared some "All About Me" books before going out for P.E. There we had some ball bouncing relays and free recess. When we came back, we finished sharing our "All About Me" books, packed up, reviewed homework, counted super star sticks, and lined up for home.

Don't forget to finish and check over homework packets for tomorrow!  Also, bring in any book orders if you're interested.
