An Apple Experiment

We had a good Wednesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read "Ten Little Apples" and "G is for Giraffe"  and added to our list of "G" words. At language arts rotations, students worked on "G" phonics and words. We've been doing a great job finding and writing "g" words!  My groups read "I See the Apple" and wrote about apples in our kindergarten journals. The other groups had their last secret center of this rotation. After recess, we had math. We worked on building and identifying 11 and 12. We finished very quickly!

After lunch, we recited "Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary" and sang "I'm a Little Teapot." Then we shared more of our "All About Me" books. We've got some fantastic projects! We will shared the last few tomorrow.  We also spent time talking about apples. We learned all of the parts of an apple (stem, skin, core, flesh, and seeds), reviewed what an apple tree needs to grow (sun, water, soil), and named the three colors of apples (red, green, yellow). We also had an apple experiment.  We tasted each of the three colors of apples and decided which one we liked best. It was a fun (and tasty) experiment! At P.E., Coach Angel taught us how to bowl. We used plastic bowling balls and pins and got to roll several frames each. We didn't have library because Mrs. Singh is out this week. So we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
