Workshop and Assessing Students

We had a busy Friday in Room 203. We spent our morning reviewing the "A" sound and reading "That Cat Max." We practiced our alphabet, phonics skills, poem, and had Reading Workshop. We practiced having Private Reading Time and working in our workshop areas. After snack and recess, we added more to our writing from yesterday during Writer's Workshop. We found out that "When we are done, we have just begun." We also shared our writing with a friend. We ended the morning with some songs and dances before handing out prizes for the students that earned twenty super star sticks. Congratulations!

After lunch, Mr. Ricker focused on assessment. I pulled students to get some baseline scores in letter identification, sound identification, book concepts, and sight words. Mrs. Brooks substituted in the class for math while I worked with students. Our math lesson centered around numbers to 5. We played Pac-Man tag at P.E. with Mr. Simatic and sang songs with Mrs. Karia in Music. Then we packed up our Friday Folders and lined up for home.

Have a great weekend!
