Prisms

We had a pleasant Thursday in Room 203. We spent our morning identifying the "A" sound, as in apple and alligator. We read "The Adventures of Abby Alligator" and tried to find words that start with "A." We continued our alphabet and phonics skills practice before snack and recess. Afterwards, we started our Writer's Workshop by putting ideas on paper with pictures and words. Most of us are just learning so we drew about something we know and told our ideas to Mr. Ricker.

After lunch, we reviewed classification, plus we practiced colors and shape identification. We will build on those skills through next week. Finally, we had science. We reviewed our prism experiment from Tuesday and then made a prism picture to show our results using paper, scissors, glue, and oil pastels. They look cool!  We ended the day in Art. Ms. Sundquist had the class paint with her for the first time. Then we packed up our things for home.

Be sure to finish and bring in homework packets for tomorrow!
