The Letter D

We had a good day back in Room 203. We spent our morning sharing about our weekend, reading "My 'D' Book," brainstorming "D" words, and using crayons and dot stampers to make the tactile page "Dots on 'D's on a Duck." We also tried more rereading at Reader's Workshop, practiced our alphabet, read "I Like Myself" for read aloud, and reviewed some phonics skills. After snack and recess, we tried to write more words independently during Writer's Workshop. We're really getting it!

After lunch, we learned our poem of the week, "Hey, Diddle, Diddle," looked at "Three Little Kittens" for shared reading, and had math. Today we worked on identifying and writing the numbers 4 and 5 and practiced our counting fluency.  To cool off, we went to the Computer Lab and worked on LexiaCore5 games. It was a nice break from the heat!  We ended the day with Spanish and P.E. Then we passed out new homework packets, counted super star sticks, and lined up for home.

Let's have a great week!
