Touch

We had busy Thursday in Room 203. We spent our morning working on "D" phonics, reading familiar storybooks at Reader's Workshop, and going to the Computer Lab. We tried logging into Lexia ourselves today, and it was a bit challenging. After snack and recess, we had Writer's Workshop. We continue to try and stretch out sounds and make words independently.

After lunch, we recited "Hey, Diddle, Diddle," read "Three Little Kittens," and sang "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" together. For math, we focused on the number six. We practiced writing it, making different configurations with 6, and counting objects to 6. In science we continued our study of the five senses with "touch." We learned that our skin has nerve endings that tell our brain what we feel. Then we had a touch experiment where students felt objects in a bag (without looking), described them, and then guessed what they were. We did remarkably well!  To end the day, we went to Art. Ms. Sundquist had the class finish making their three-dimensional line sculpture project. Hopefully, they made it home safely! Then we packed up, reviewed homework, counted super star sticks, and lined up for home.

Be sure to finish and check over homework packets for tomorrow!
