Line Prints

We had a fun Friday in Room 203. We spent our morning finishing up the five senses by matching pictures that are hot and cold to touch. We spent time at Reader's Workshop working with a partner and being storybook readers! We had Road to Reading again and worked on letters, phonics, and more.  After snack and recess, we started writing stories in Writer's Workshop. We tried to make a story with a beginning and an end using pictures, letters, and words. We will try and finish them on Monday.

After lunch, we recited "Hey, Diddle, Diddle," read and acted out "Three Little Kittens," and sang "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes." For math, we worked on our counting skills, as well as putting cubes in linear, scattered, circular, and array configurations. In art, we continued talking about lines. We made a line print using aluminum foil, paint, and our fingers.. They came out very cool!  I was happy to see so many patterns, too!  We ended the day with P.E. (with a surprise appearance by Mr. Ricker) and Music. Then we packed up Friday Folders, passed out prizes for twenty super star sticks, and lined up for home.

Have a great weekend!
