The Letter I

We had a good Monday back in Room 203. We spent our morning learning about the letter "I." We read "My 'I' Book," brainstormed some "short i" words, and used crayons, glue, and ice cream cones to make the tactile page "Ice Cream Cones on 'C's on an Igloo." We also worked on pointing at words during Reader's Workshop. It's assessment week in Road to Reading, so we reviewed and checked on our progress. After snack and recess, we had Writer's Workshop. We started new true stories, focusing on a beginning and end, speech bubbles, and feelings.

After lunch, Mrs. Logan stopped by as a guest teacher. She led the class on a shared reading of "Play Ball." We practiced "Five Little Pumpkins" again, as well as recited our new poem, "Little Jack Horner." After some workshop time, we played Picture Bingo. We also went to the Computer Lab to play LexiaCore5 games. We ended the day with Spanish and P.E. Then we packed up green folders, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.

Be sure to check over homework and your take-home books. And remember that our Halloween party is Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. Let's have a great week!
