Field Trip to Goebbert's Farm

It was a fun Thursday in Room 203!  We had a field trip to Goebbert's Farm!  We spent the start of our day practicing "H" phonics, having Reader's Workshop, snack, and Star of the Week. I shared some pictures with the class. Then we took a bathroom break, went over our rules, and got on the bus for our trip.

We drove all the way to Barrington to Goebbert's Farm. When we arrived we had lunch right away, which was a good idea. Then we saw a movie about Goebbert's Farm and "Happy Jack," the giant pumpkin that's on top of their silo. Next we got to see the "pumpkin eating dinosaur" they have at the farm. We also saw some of the animals they have before getting on a tractor and taking a tour around the farm. When we got back, we went and saw more animals, including their giraffe(!). After sliding down the cool slide, we got to pick our a gourd, a corn, and a pumpkin to take home. Cool!  Most of us were tired, so we rested on the bus ride home.

After returning to Beye, we had a short recess before packing up our things for home.  We'd like to thank Kennedy's mom, Wai Zin's mom, and Henry's dad for being chaperones on our trip. Thank you! I hope you all had fun!

Be sure to finish and check over homework packets for Friday. Return them and your take-home books in the green folder tomorrow.
