Picture Day!

We had a busy Tuesday back in Room 203! We spent our morning getting our photos taken for Picture Day. We took a class picture on the playground and got individual photographs in the Commons. I hope that everyone smiled!  Remember if you forgot to order prints, you can still go online today to purchase packages. The rest of our morning included reading "Class Picture Day," and working with the letter "F." We read "My 'F' Book," brainstormed words that start with "F," and used crayons, glue, and feathers to make the tactile page "Feathers on 'F's on a Football." Road to Reading is in its assessment week, so we will be testing and regrouping students the next few days for Monday. After snack and recess, we read our first "Time for Kids" issue on different types of schools before having Reader's Workshop to finish the morning.

After lunch, we recited our new poem "Three Little Kittens," read "Five Little Monkeys," and sang "Tony Chestnut." For math, we worked on counting to ten, then making different configurations (linear, scattered, circular, array) for the number nine. Our classwork included practicing writing "9"s and counting to 9. We cleaned up early so that we could have PEA next. We went outside and practiced kicking a ball with control around a cone and back. It was a little challenging, but fun. We ended the day with Music and Spanish. Then we reviewed our new homework packet, gave out prizes for twenty super star sticks, and lined up for home.

Be sure to check over homework for the week. Permission slips for our first field trip go home today. Send them in by Friday. Book orders will go home tomorrow with your child. Let's have a great week!
