Halloween!

Today was Halloween in Room 203!  We tried to keep our morning normal, so we focused on learning about the letter "I." We read 'Iguana on Ice," came up with more "I" words, and practiced writing "I." We even tried writing "I" sentences! We met with our 5th grade Reading Buddies to look at books next. Then we read "Runaway Pumpkin" and had Reader's Workshop. After Road to Reading, we had snack and recess. When we came back in, we had Writer's Workshop. We finished up our stories from yesterday and got a little more Workshop time. We ended the morning by singing the alphabet song, reciting "Little Jack Horner," practicing our sight words, and reading "The Hallo-Weiner."

After lunch, it was Halloween time!  We quickly changed and met up with our 5th grade buddies to go on the Beye Halloween parade. When we got back, it was time for our party!  First we sang "Five Little Pumpkins" for our parents. Then we had four stations for the class to rotate through: Halloween Bingo station, a tracing craft, a pumpkin making craft, and a storytime/snack station. They were a lot of fun!  After a few pictures and some cleanup, it was time to grab our treats and head home!

Extra special thanks to our Room 203 parents (Ben P.'s mom, Bennett's mom, Henry's mom and dad) for helping plan our party!  Thanks also to all of the parents that came and helped out!  We appreciate it very much!  Happy Halloween!
