Halloween Pictures

We had a busy Friday in Room 203. We spent our morning finishing up my "Star of the Week." I shared three jokes before the class worked on writing a friendly letter. It was a bit challenging, but we all were able to get a short letter done! We talked more about exact word reading in Reader's Workshop. We also reviewed our sight words, had private reading time, and practiced some phonics skills. After Road to Reader, we had snack and recess. It was a bit chilly, so we may want to break out the winter coats, hats, and gloves for next week. When we returned, we had Writer's Workshop. We finished our recess stories and tried to add feeling and dialogue to them using speech bubbles.

After lunch, we recited "Pease Porridge Hot" read "Koala Lou," and sang "Five Little Pumpkins." We also had math. We worked more on counting numbers before trying to make one less using steps. For art, we created Halloween pictures using oil pastels. They look fun!  P.E. was canceled, so we spent more time on our art and had some extra free time. We ended our day with Music. Then we packed up Friday Folders, awarded prizes for twenty super star sticks, and lined up for home.

Have a great weekend!
