Smooth and Rough Lines

We had an interesting Friday in Room 203. In the morning Mr. Ricker was in a meeting, so the class had a substitute teacher. Ms. Makowski led the class as we studied the letter "F" and had Reader's Workshop. She also let our read aloud and phonics practice. After snack and recess, the class learned about making our writing the best it can be in Writer's Workshop. We even got to share our stories with the rest of the class!

Mr. Ricker was back after lunch as we recited "Three Little Kittens" and sang "Tony Chestnut." In math, we took a mid-module assessment on numbers and counting. The class said that it was pretty easy. In Art, we studied smooth and rough lines. We saw examples of each before making a picture of a favorite outdoor place. We used oil pastels to trace and color in our smooth and rough lines. They look good! To end the day, we went to P.E. and Music. Then we packed up Friday Folders, gave out prizes for twenty super star sticks, and lined up for home.

Have a great weekend!
