Teacher Appreciation Week

Wow!  We had an amazing start to Teacher Appreciation Week! After we turned in our Friday Folders and came out for Nutrition, the class and I saw a wonderful collection of flowers, pictures, cards, and letters for yours truly.  Thank you so much! It's a fantastic way to start the week. When we came in, we took care of our morning activities, read "The Bravest Fish," and brainstormed some "R" blend words, specifically the "br, cr, and fr"sounds. At language arts rotations, students worked on finding the missing "r" blend and then writing some "br, cr, and fr" sentences. My groups worked on a Mother's Day sewing project. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we had math. We worked on finding, identifying, and drawing spheres and cubes.

After lunch, we learned our new sight workers and our  new poem, "Rock-A-Bye Baby."  We also read "The Rainbow Fish" and sequenced the story. We then put each part in order to make a mini-book. We will write sentences later this week. Then we introduced Stella as our Star of the Week. She shared her awesome poster and took questions from the class. After P.E. on the kindergarten yard, we ended the day sharing Asher's animal report & diorama and having some choose time. Then we passed out homework, packed up, and lined up for home. Let's have a great week!

Be sure to look over homework for the week. A permission slip for our final field trip is attached. Parents interested in being a chaperone should sign up in the class door.
