Dolphins

We had a fun Thursday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read Victoire's book, "Robert the Rose Horse ." At language arts rotations, students wrote a friendly letter to Victoire, our Star of the Week. My groups read "Pat and the Vet" and wrote about ocean animals in our kindergarten journals. The other groups had their last secret center of this rotation. About halfway through rotations, we stopped to get our hearing tested. They were very efficient...the entire class was done in about ten minutes!  After recess, we had math. We reviewed chapter 12 on three-dimensional shapes. We have now finished our math series!  We will spend the remainder of the year on addition and subtraction practice, plus time and money.

After lunch, we quickly reviewed sight words and recited "Hot Cross Buns."  We also read two short books an dolphins before making our own dolphin art project. Mr. Abram's visited the class to share his plasma ball, so the class got to see and touch the electricity. For Star of the Week, Victoire shared some nice family photographs. After a fun visit to Mr.Duffy's room and P.E. on the kindergarten yard, we ended the day with Reading Buddies. We looked at books in our room since the fifth graders were practicing their graduation performance in our normal area. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.

Be sure to finish and check over homework for tomorrow. Anyone with book orders or permission slips should send them in Friday, as well.
