S Blends and "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown"

We had a good Tuesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read the book "Skippy Skunk" and reviewed our "S" blends. At language arts rotations, students worked on "sk and st" phonics and sentences. My groups read "Zip?" and sorted even and odd numbers. I also continued our end of the year reading assessments. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we had math. We reviewed time to the hour before we introduced time to the half hour. The hardest part right now is reading the time when the hour hand is between two numbers, so try to practice at home!

After lunch, we rehearsed four songs for our culmination with Ms. Genut and Mrs. Navarrette. We are doing a great job so far!  When we finished, we took a few minutes to look at books, practice telling time with clocks, or playing our memory game with a friend. For Star of the Week, Zuri shared some cool toys. She brought in Winnie the Pooh, a "Fluffy" stuffed toy, ShopKins Bingo, and a doll named Abby. The class liked them all! Next, we went to the auditorium to watch our Reading Buddies from Mr. Bassett's Room 19 perform "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown." They did an amazing job!  We ended the day with P.E. on the kindergarten yard. Then we shared a couple of books, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
