Our Last Day at the Tech Lab

We had a memorable Tuesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read "Flora Flamingo Learns to Fly" and reviewed our "L" blends. At language arts rotations, students worked on "gl" and "fl" blends and sentences. My groups read "Jeb is Quick" and learned about cows and the foods they make with their milk. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we went to the Tech Lab for the last time. Ms. Castro reviewed many of the skills we learned this year. Then she let the students choose any games they liked from PlanetBravo. It was fun!  When we got back to Room 2, we reviewed our sight words and let Stella share her animal report & diorama project.

During lunch, Mr. Ricker was invited to got to a PTA luncheon. So I, along with two other teachers and a handful of esteemed parent volunteers (including Jacks' mom and Ethan's mom) were presented with an Honorary Service Award. Pretty cool, huh? While I was gone, the class had lunch and watched a movie with Mrs. Navarrette's class. Then they returned to Room 2 to have math and work on some addition facts with Miss Rosie and a substitute teacher. They also read a farm book and started a page that matched farm animals to the sound they make. We will finish them tomorrow. I got back in time for us to have Star of the Week with Zachary. He shared some awesome toys, including his favorite polar bear, a fancy display case of Lego figures, and a trophy he earned at chess. After a late P.E. on the kindergarten yard, CJ and Charis shared their animal report & diorama projects. Don't forget that they are due tomorrow! Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.

Please be sure to finish your animal reports for tomorrow. Practice reading through them, too. We will try to get through as many as we can tomorrow and Friday.
