The "Ch" Digraph

We had a nice Monday back in Room 2. We began the day by collecting Friday Folders, having Nutrition, and taking care of our morning activities. Then we read the book "Chimp and Chick's Lunch" and brainstormed "ch" words. At language arts rotations, students worked on "Ch" handwriting and sentences, plus using crayons, glue and tortilla chips to make the tactile page "Chips on 'Ch's on a Cheese." My groups read Sam and Mat book #6. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we had math.We worked on problem solving with a partner to find where to put missing objects.

After lunch, we introduced our new sight words and our new nursery rhyme, "Wee Willie Winkie." Then we had our final art lesson with Ms. Maria and Miss Karla. They had the class paint rectangular fields of color in the style of Mark Rothko. We also had some free draw with markers. Next we had P.E. on the big yard. When we got back, we introduced Olive as our Star of the Week. She shared her awesome poster and took questions from the class. To end the day, we completed an insect cut and paste. We found where the missing butterfly, dragonfly, beetle, and water bug went in a pond picture. Then we packed up, passed out homework, and lined up for home.  Let's have a great week!

Be sure to look over homework for the week. An information note and permission slip for our second field trip are attached. Also, April book orders are included. Try to return both by Friday, please. Thanks!
