Lexia Learning in the Tech Lab

We had a full Tuesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. We read "Where Do Insects Live?" We also read some "ch" riddles and came up with some more "ch" words. At language arts rotations, students worked on "Ch" phonics and sentences. My groups read "Ed Can, Ted Can" and wrote about insects in our kindergarten journal. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we went to the Tech Lab. Ms. Castro had the class work on typing c-v-c (consonant-vowel-consonant) words. When we got back to Room 2, we reviewed our sight words and recited "Wee Willie Winkie."

After lunch, we read "Thinking About Ants" and went back to the Tech Lab. This time, students logged into their Lexia Learning account to work on their reading skills. Several students have been making good progress in school and at home. Keep it up!  I will be handing out certificates on Fridays when students complete levels. See me if you have any questions or need help using Lexia Learning at home. When we got back, we had Star of the Week. Olive shared her toy penguin, her coin collection from the year she was born, and her favorite toy, Fluffy the bunny. The class liked them all a lot! We had a little time before P.E., so we did an ant maze sheet for fun. After P.E. on the big yard, we learned a little more about insects. We divided some insects into groups that had wings and those with no wings. To end the day, we had Reading Buddies with our friends from Room 19. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
