Theater and Lines

Things got back to normal today in Room 2. The weather was milder, so we could return to our regular routine. We began Thursday with Nutrition and morning activities. We read "Queen Bee's Scream" and talked about the "Long E" sound. At language arts rotations, students did a "long e" phonics page. It was a little tricky, but we did pretty well. I like that we're starting to write words and pictures on the back of our work when we're finished!  My groups made "Quick as a Cricket" books. The other groups had secret centers.  After recess, we recited "Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater" and had math. We worked on counting and writing 8 and 9.

After lunch (and lunch recess!), we had Theater. We met Ms. Nichols in the auditorium. She focused her lesson on setting. The class "visited" the seven continents, working on improvisation and using their imagination. We wrote in out Theater journals when we got back to Room 2. Then we had afternoon snack and P.E. on the kindergarten yard. To end the day, we had an art lesson on lines to touch. We used the glue line pattern we made on Tuesday as a template and colored in between the smooth lines with oil pastels. They look nice!  Then we packed up and lined up for home.

Don't forget to finish, check over, and return homework packets for tomorrow!
