Broken Lines

We got a lot done today in Room 2. We began our Friday by collecting homework folders and having Nutrition. We had our morning activities and read "Me and My Family Tree" together when we came back into the room. At language arts rotations, students worked on an "F" cut and paste phonics page. My groups wrote about places we go in our kindergarten journals. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, Mr. A read "Pete the Cat At the Beach" to the class. Then we had math. We reviewed Topic 3: "Numbers Six to Ten" together and introduced Topic 4: "Comparing and Ordering Numbers 0 to 10" for next week.

After lunch, we recited our poem "Three Little Kittens." It was a tough one, but we had about twenty students recite it by themselves. Keep it up!  Then we sang "I'm a Little Teapot" and had art. We continued our study of lines by examining broken lines. We looked at examples of lines with space in between and tried to make our own broken line picture using small construction paper squares and wet glue. Then we had a little extra choose time and shared Lila's "All About Me" book. Don't forget to keep working on yours at home! We had afternoon snack and P.E. on the kindergarten yard before ending the day with a partner project. We worked with a friend to find "f" words" and color a fish picture. Then we packed up our things, got our Friday Folders, and passed our green certificates before lining up for home.

Have a fantastic weekend! Be sure to continue work on those "All About Me" book projects, which are due Tuesday, October 7th.
