The Letter F

We started a new week today in Room 2. Our Monday began with Nutrition and morning activities. We read "My F Book" and brainstormed some words that start with "F." At language arts rotations, students designed "Feathers on 'F's on a Football." My groups read "I See the Apple" and worked on neat "f" handwriting. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we introduced our new poem, "Three Little Kittens." It's a long one, so be sure to practice it a lot at home!  For math, we worked on counting to the number 10. We used unifix cubes and completed a skill sheet.

After lunch, we read "The Ten Things I Like About My Dad" and sang "I'm a Little Teapot." Then we read "Mama Loves" and talked about the things we like to do with our families. We picked one thing and wrote a sentence and drew a picture showing what we like to do with our family. Next, we had afternoon snack and P.E. on the kindergarten yard. To end the day, we had art with Ms. Maria and Miss Karla. The class dripped paint on a canvas in the style of Jackson Pollack. We also had free draw with markers. After cleaning up, we passed out homework folders, packed up, and lined up for home. Let's have a great week!

Be sure to check over homework packets to make sure you have everything. Note that we do NOT have school this Thursday. And continue work on those "All About Me" books projects!
