The Letter X and Potato Guy (and Girl)

We had a great day in Room 2 this Monday. We started by collecting Friday Folders and taking care of morning business. Then we read "My X, Y, and Z Book" through the "X" part and brainstormed "X" words. At language arts rotations, we practiced "X" handwriting and did the tactile page "X is for X-Ray" using watercolors. My table read "Sit Tip!" and wrote about our favorite color in our journals. Other groups had secret centers.  After snack and recess, we learned our new poem of the week, "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep" and had math. We put together parts to make 14, 15, and 16 using cubes with a partner.

After lunch, we read "Clever Tom and the Leprechaun" and made "Potato Guy (or Girl)." They're hanging above the windows if you want to check them out. For Star of the Week, Lily shared her poster and took questions and comments from the class. We went out to the big yard for P.E. When we got back, we watched "The Magic School Bus: All Dried Up" since we had learned about deserts last week. Then we packed up out homework folders and 100 Day projects and lined up for home!

Don't forget to look through the homework and Ricker Report today. We have "Homework for Parents" and book orders included this week!
