X-Rays and Bones

We started our Wednesday thinking it might rain, but it didn't. We'll see if that's the case tomorrow! Anyway, we began with our morning business. Then I read two books: "Your Body" and "Your Bones." At language arts rotations, students worked on cutting out bone pieces and connecting them with brass fasteners to create a movable skeleton. My table read "Sam and Mat" book 6 together and then did some sight word recognition. The other two groups had secret centers. After snack and recess, we recited "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep" and had math. Today we worked with a partner to find a pattern in creating numbers 11 to 19.

After lunch, we read some Human Body riddles (we got most of them) and had language mixing with Mr. Duffy's class. My group discussed our neighborhood and some people that help make it better. Then we made a community helper spinner. When we all got back together, we had Star of the Week. Lily had us read her favorite book "Winnie the Witch." The class liked it! We had P.E. with Coach Angel on the yard. We shared our time with Mrs. Lee's class and played large hoop toss. Then we went to the library where Mr. K read the class a Frog and Toad story called "A Swim." Then we packed up our things and headed for home!
