The Letter X

We had a pretty good Monday back in Room 203. We spent our morning sharing about our weekend, reading "X is for Xig-Xag," and using crayons and watercolors to make the tactile page "X is for X-Ray." We also learned how to play pretend during Reader's Workshop. It's assessment week in Road to Reading, and when we finished we had snack and recess. When we came back in we learned our new sight words (all, here, after, us, out), recited our new poem ("Baa, Baa, Black Sheep"), read "My 'X' Book, brainstormed "X" words, and practiced good "X" handwriting.

After lunch, we practiced more number bonds and subtraction with the number 6. We also started an "Egg Guy" or "Egg Girl" project that we will finish on Wednesday. We also learned our new Olympic Teams for May since we will be meeting them during our Second Step time this week. We ended the day with Spanish and P.E. Then we reviewed our new homework, passed our prizes for twenty super star sticks, and packed up for home.

Be sure to look over homework for the week. We do not have school tomorrow (Teachers' Institute) and there is a permission slip for our next field trip included. Please sign and return it on Friday. Let's have a great week!
