More With X and Color Monsters

We had a good Thursday in Room 203. We spent our morning reading "A Xylophone for X-Ray Fish," brainstorming "X" words and writing "X" sentences. We also had Reader's Workshop, where we looked at non-fiction books with a partner. We missed library on Tuesday, so we went to go check out some new books for Spring Break with Mr. Withers and Mrs. Frost. After snack and recess, we reviewed 85 sight words, recited "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep," read a book about Spring, and worked on lowercase "k" in our HWT workbooks.

After lunch we had math. We worked on composing and decomposing 7 by playing snap with unifix cubes, making number bonds with markers and whiteboards, and solving problem sets by crossing out dots. We also got some Workshop time. To end the day, we went to Art with Ms. Sundquist. Students made color monster pictures based on the book "The Color Monster." Then we reviewed homework, packed up, and lined up for home.

Be sure to finish up and check over homework for Friday!
