Subtraction

We had a fast Wednesday in Room 203. We spent our morning in Reader's Workshop, Writer's Workshop, and reviewing the "W" sound. We also had Road to Reading and snack and recess. We ended the morning in Spanish with Sra. Colmenero.

After lunch, we had math. After some fluency practice, we focused on subtraction. We looked at the minus sign and practiced taking away by crossing out objects or pictures. We also solved a few problems by counting how many were left. After some Workshop, we ended the day with Second Step. Mrs. Sweeney and I led the last lesson in our Child Protection Unit on Practicing Staying Safe. We focused on the Touching Rule and the Never Keep Secrets Rule.A home-link should have gone home with your child. Then we packed up and lined up for home.

Remember that our field trip is tomorrow!  Be sure to wear your class shirt, comfortable shoes, and bring a sack lunch with a drink for the day. It should be a lot of fun!
