Shape Town

We had a fun Friday in Room 203. We spent our morning in Reader's Workshop, writing letters to Kennedy (our Star of the Week), and listening to a story called "Shape Town." We then used shapes to create our own picture like they did in the story. After Road to Reading, we had snack and recess. We ended the morning by reviewing sight words, reciting "There Was a Crooked Man," and reading "Bear Feels Sick." The students that needed extra time also finished up their Shape Town projects.

In the afternoon, we reviewed numbers and shapes in math before trying some addition problems. We learned that you can use number bonds, cubes or your fingers to help. We also had some math workshop. Then we read our letters to Kennedy for Star of the week. After P.E. (where we played lacrosse!) and Music (where we were singing songs for the Three Piggy Opera!), we gave prizes for twenty super star sticks and packed up for home.

Have a great weekend!
