The Letter W

We had a nice Monday back in Room 203. We spent our morning reading and identifying our strongest superpowers. We also read "W is for Walrus" and learned about the letter "W." We used crayons, glue, and gummy worms to make the tactile page "Worms on 'W's on a Window. After Road to Reading, we had snack and recess. When we returned, we learned our new sight words (our, cut, up, get, this), recited our new poem ("Humpty Dumpty"), read "My 'W' Book," brainstormed "W" words, and practiced good "W" handwriting.

After lunch, we had math. We used cubes and picture to tell stories about making the number 8. Then we used those number bonds to write addition sentences. We also had math workshop. For Star of the Week, we introduced Khyan. She shared her poster and took questions from the class. We ended the day in Spanish and P.E. Then we packed up our green folders and lined up for home.

Be sure to check homework packets for the week! Our field trip is Thursday, and there is a book order that is due Friday if you're interested. Let's have a great week!
