Leprechauns and "Fiddler on the Roof"

We had a pretty fun Friday in Room 203. We spent our morning reading "It's St. Patrick's Day" and writing letters to Khyan, our Star of the Week. We also learned how to make reading playdates in Reader's Workshop. After Road to Reading, we had snack and recess. When we returned, we reviewed all 80 of our sight words, recited "Humpty Dumpty," and read "Panda Bear Cub." We also worked on lowercase "l' in our HWT workbooks.

After lunch, we read a couple of St. Patrick's Day stories about leprechauns, "Clever Tom and and the Leprechaun" and "Looking for Leprechauns." Then we used crayons, paper, and a brass fastener to make a movable leprechaun. They look cute! We were invited to our reading buddies' performance of "The Fiddler on the Roof" at 1:00, so we made our way to the auditorium to see them perform. They did a great job!  Next we had a short P.E. and Music. We ended the day sharing Khyan's pictures and the letters we wrote her before packing up for home.

Have a great weekend! Remember that there is no school on TUESDAY next week.
