The Letter V

We had a good Monday back in Room 203. We spent our morning sharing about our weekend, reading independently and with a partner in Reader's Workshop, and using crayons, glue, and vinyl to make the tactile page "Vinyl on 'V's on a Vest." We started new Road to Reading groups today, too. After snack and recess, we learned our new sight words (was, we , how, do, father), recited our new poem ("There Was a Crooked Man"), read "My 'V' Book," brainstormed "V" words, and practiced  some good "V" handwriting.

After lunch, we sang "Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear" and had math. We continued to represent decompositions for 6-8 using numbers bonds. We should begin adding numbers using those number bonds tomorrow and all this week. After math Workshop, we had Star of the Week. We introduced Kennedy as our Star of the Week and she shared her cool poster and took questions from the class. We ended the day with Spanish and P.E. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.

Be sure to look over homework for the week! Field trip permission slips and $ is due this week. Also, don't forget to keep reading for the March Minute Madness. Let's have a great week!
