Field Trip to SciTech

We had a great Thursday in Room 203. It was a field trip day!  We spent our morning working on "W" phonics and getting ready for our trip. We had to wait a bit for the bus and then it took awhile to get to SciTech. Once, there, we got to explore the upper level. There were tons of hands-on activities with communication, energy, light, metals, animals, physics, bicycles, and more. Downstairs there were bubbles, air experiments, a tv camera, sand, blocks and LEGO to build with, mail delivery, tornadoes, and more. We visited a classroom and learned about weather, radiometers, anemometers, energy sticks, states of matter, and more. After lunch, we got to explore the basement level and the color, planet, and space activities. Then we made our way back to the bus and home to Beye.

When we returned, we had a nice recess and had Star of the Week. Khyan read us her favorite book, "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!" The class liked it a lot. Then we packed up for home. Special thanks to Ben S.'s mom, Henry's dad, Kennedy's mom, and Wai Zin's mom for being chaperones! You're the best!

Also, be sure to finish up and check over homework packets for tomorrow. Book orders are due Friday, too, if you're interested.
