The Th Digraph

We had a busy Monday back in Room 203. We began our day by collecting Friday Folders and taking care of our morning activities. In the A to Z Countdown, it was "J is for Jump Rope" day, so some students brought in jump ropes. We also drew a picture of ourselves jump roping. We switched our schedule a bit today so that we could rehearse for our performance, so we had Art next. We finished up our rainbow colored letter pictures with Ms. Sundquist. When we got back, we read "The Thing That Went Thump" and brainstormed some "th" words. We also used crayons, glue, and thread to make the tactile page "Thread on 'Th's on a Thumb." They look nice!  After snack and recess, we went to the auditorium to practice the Three Piggy Opera. We're getting better! When we finished, we worked on neat "th" handwriting and sentences.

After lunch, we learned our sight words and poem of the week, "Bedtime." We also introduced the farm and farm animals as a theme and read "The Big Red Barn." Then we colored a red barn and surrounded it with farm animals. We went outside and tried some jump roping next.  Some of us are very good! Keep practicing at home!  When we came back in, we introduce Rocco as our Star of the Week. He shared his cool poster and took questions from the class. We ended the day in the Computer Lab. We worked on LexiaCore5 games. Then we packed up, reviewed our homework for the week, and lined up for home.

Be sure to look over homework packets. A memory book survey and a permission slip for a field trip are included.  Let's have a great week!
