The Ch Digraph

We had a nice Monday in Room 203. We began the day by collecting Friday Folders and taking care of our morning activities. We finished all of the letters of the alphabet, so starting this week we will have a digraphs of the week. We read "Chimp and Chick's Lunch" and brainstormed some words that have the "ch" sound. After Road to Reading, we used crayons, glue, and tortilla chips to make the tactile page "Chips on 'Ch' on a Cheese." They look tasty! We also practiced some good "Ch" handwriting and sentences. After snack and recess, we went to Art. Ms. Sundquist had the class begin a new project with rainbow colors. The class learned what ROY G. BIV stands for, and started a rainbow picture using the first letter of their name.

After lunch, we learned our new sight words for the week and  recited our new poem, "Wee Willie Winkie." At Music, we practiced the songs and story of "The Three Piggy Opera." When we got back, we had math. we practiced number fluency, played Snap!, and crossed out numbers to solve subtraction sentences. For Star of the Week, we introduced Pinero. He shared his cool poster and took questions from the class. We ended the day in the Computer Lab. We worked on L:exiaCore5 games for a bit. Then we packed up, reviewed our new homework packet, passed out certificates for an all-green April, and lined up for home.

Be sure to wear good walking shoes for tomorrow's field trip!  Also, check out that A to Z Countdown calendar  to see what special days we have starting tomorrow!  Let's have a great week!
