The Sh Digraph

We had a fun Monday in Room 203. We began our day by turning in Friday Folders and taking care of our morning activities. We read "Shelley's New Shoes" and brainstormed some "sh" words. We also used crayons, glue, and pasta shells to make the tactile page "Shells on 'Sh' on  Ship." After Road to Reading we celebrated our A to Z countdown. It was 'E is for Extra Recess" day, so we drew a favorite recess activity. We practiced some good handwriting and sentences before having snack and recess. At Art, we continued our rainbow color project with Ms. Sundquist.

After lunch, we learned our new sight words and our poem of the week, "Come to the Window." In Music, we rehearsed in the auditorium for the Three Piggy Opera for the first time with Mrs. Hansen. When we got back, we started a secret Mother's Day project. Then we went out and had our extra recess. To end the day, we introduced Quinn as our Star of the Week. He shared his cool poster and took questions from the class. Then we packed up, reviewed our new homework packet and project, and lined up for home.

Be sure to check out this week's homework. It's a bit shorter to finish the year. Hopefully, that will help us with our final at-home project: The Animal Research Report. I'm asking students to research and write at least five facts about a wild animal. Plus, I would like them to make a poster or diorama to share when they present their report. See me if you have questions, concerns, or need materials.

Finally, our last book orders go home today, Return them by Friday if you're interested!

Let's have a great week!
