Early Animal Reports

We had a pretty easy Tuesday in Room 203. We began the day by collecting Friday Folders and taking care of our morning activities. It was "T is for Thankful" day in our A to Z Countdown, so we made a picture of someone we are thankful for. We read a story about dads before having ELA Workshop. My groups made a secret Father's Day gift. At independent tables, students worked with iPads to play LexiaCore5 games. We also visited a secret center. After snack and recess, we shared some Animal Research Reports. Four students brought them in early (yay!), so we'd tried to let them present right away. Miles went first with his report on the orangutan, followed by Zach's report on the Emperor Penguin. They both were great! We took a break to have some phonics review. We found the missing digraph (ch, sh, th, wh) for several words. Next, we had Charlotte read her camel report followed by Addison's red panda project. They all did a fantastic job! I look forward to some more projects tomorrow!

After lunch, we learned our new poem of the week, "Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star." We also had Star of the Week. We introduced Zach as our Star of the Week and shared his cool poster. After taking questions, he also got to share his toys since we missed school on Monday. Zach brought in a zebra, a Geronimo Stilton chapter book, Mega Man and Roll toys, and a travel Blokus game. The class liked them all!  Then we had our Tuesday specials. We read books with Mr. Withers and Mrs. Frost in the library, we reviewed more Spanish vocabulary with Sra. Colmenero, and we played some fun running games with Mr. Simatic in P.E. Then we found some Zero Heroes, reviewed homework, had a little choose time, packed up, and lined up for home.

Be sure to check homework packets for the week. Oh wait, there is no homework packet!  Be sure to finish up Animal Research Reports and practice reading them for tomorrow. Also, don't forget about our field trip Thursday. Let's have a great week!
