Farm Animals

We had a full Friday in Room 203. We began our day by collecting homework folders and taking care of our morning activities. It was "S is for School Spirit (and sunglasses)" in our A to Z Countdown, so we tried to draw our school mascot, the bobcat. For Star of Week, Yahkid shared some cute family photographs and told a silly joke. We also read the letter we wrote him yesterday. Next, we read a book on chickens and sorted eggs between ducks and chickens using odd and even numbers. After snack, we read a Time for Kids on Kid Heroes together. Then we went to Spanish and worked on our culminating vocabulary activity with Sra. Colmenero. In P.E., we played an indoor soccer game with Mr. Simatic. When we got back to the room, we had science. We read a book on farm animals and then made farm animal puppets for a pig, cow, turkey, sheep, horse, and duck. We got to take them home, too!

After lunch, we took our final math assessment for the year on addition and subtraction. It was a bit challenging, but we tried our best. There was an all-school assembly for the Oak Park Library summer reading program, so we went to that in the gym. Then we ended the day outside for some wonderful recess. When we finished, we cleaned up, packed up Friday Folders, gave out prizes for twenty super star sticks, and lined up for home.

Have a great three day weekend!  Be sure to work on those Animal Research Reports. See you on Tuesday!
