Hot and Cold Colors

We had a busy Friday in Room 203. We began our day by collecting homework folders and taking care of our morning activities. We read "The Bravest Fish" and drew a picture of ourselves dancing for our A to Z Countdown day: D is for Dancing. (We took dance break throughout the day, too) For Star of the Week, Pinero told a funny joke and we shared the letters we wrote to him. After Road to Reading, we had a quick snack and cut out the Rainbow Fish we made on Thursday. Next, we went outside to participate in the Bus Evacuation Drill. Miss Tiffanie talked to the class about bus rules and bus safety. In Spanish, we learned about Cinco de Mayo with Sra. Colmenero. We had a substitute in  P.E. that showed us how to play bridge tag. When we got back to our room, we had Science. We're starting a unit called Animals Two by Two. Today we learned about fish. We read some facts about them and learned their parts. We will learn more about animals for the next few weeks!

After lunch, we reviewed all 85 sight words and recited "Wee Willie Winkie. We also took the mid-module assessment on addition and subtraction. After reading a Time for Kids on exercise and movement, we went outside for some exercise and movement at recess. To end the day, we had art. We learned about hot (red, orange, yellow) and cold (green, blue, purple) colors. Then we made a picture of two flowers: one using hot colors, one using cold colors. Then we packed up Friday Folders, passed out prizes for twenty super star sticks, and headed home. Have a great weekend!
