Sea Turtles

We had a musical Thursday in Room 203. We began our day with our morning activities. In the A to Z Countdown, it was "H is for Hat" day, so we drew a picture of a cool hat. Many students wore hats, so it was pretty easy to get ideas!  For Star of the Week, Quinn brought in some nice family pictures to share. Then we went to the auditorium to practice the Three Piggy Opera with the other kindergarten classes and Mrs. Hansen. Be sure to remember that our performance is on Wednesday, May 24th!  We had snack and recess after our busy rehearsal. Then we read a book on sea turtles and had ELA Workshop. Students made their own sea turtle at independent work tables. My groups wrote a friendly letter to Quinn, our Star of the Week. We also visited another secret center.

After lunch, we reviewed sight words, recited "Come the the Window," and read a book about sharks. In Music, we went back to the auditorium and practiced more of our songs for the Three Piggy Opera with Mrs. Hansen. When we got back, we practiced number fluency and then worked more with number bonds. We decomposed 9 and made bonds related to those numbers. In Spanish we talked more about the tropical rain forest. To end the day, we read stories about mothers and decorated bags for our Mother's Day gifts. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.

Be sure to finish up and check over homework packets for Friday!
