Seed Pictures

We had a good Thursday in Room 203. We began the day with our morning activities and HWT. We missed Star of the Week yesterday, so Jaliyah shared her favorite book, "Royal Lessons." Next we went to the Computer Lab to work on LexiaCore5 skills. When we got back, we finished our seed pictures from yesterday. We drew roots down from the seeds, and stems, leaves, and flowers up. We also painted the soil with watercolor paints. After snack and recess, we read "The Little Tree" and had ELA Workshop. My groups wrote a friendly letter to Jaliyah, our Star of the Week. Students independently worked on "W" phonics and sentences. We also started new secret centers. They include: Drawing a picture with markers at the Art Center, playing LexiaCore5 games at the Computer Center, adding numbers to 8 at the Math Center, finding hidden objects at the Mystery Center, making a plant needs mini-book at the Reading & Writing Center, and constructing something out of paper at the Science Center.

After lunch, we reviewed sight words, recited "Humpty Dumpty," practiced phonics skills, and had a quick math sprint. At Music, we practiced our songs for the "Three Piggy Opera." When we got back, we practiced more number bonds from 6, 7, and 8. At Spanish, the class worked on Spring Break and vacation terms. To end the day, we had Star of the Week again. We reviewed what we know about Jaliyah. She also shared some nice photographs and extra toys with the class. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, counted super star sticks, and lined up for home.

Be sure to finish and check over homework packets for tomorrow!
