Finishing Up the Five Senses

We had a fun Thursday in Room 203. It was a rainy start to our day, but we quickly collected homework and took care of our morning business. We finished reading "The Magic School Bus Explores the Senses" book and had HWT. Then we went to the Computer Lab to work on LexiaCore5 learning games. When we got back to the room, we finished up our study of the five senses. We read a book on touch and then had a touch experiment. Each student came up to feel a different mystery object in a feely bag. They had to identify if it was hard or soft, hot or cold, and smooth or rough before making a guess. We did a nice job!  We had indoor snack and recess because it was still so wet before having ELA Workshop. Students independently sorted hot and cold items. My group wrote a friendly letter to Marin, our Star of the Week. We also had a secret center.

After lunch, we reviewed sight words, recited "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep," and had Star of the Week. Marin shared some cute family photos with the class. At Music, we played a game and practiced for the Three Piggy Opera with Mrs. Hansen. We earned our tenth green day, so when we got back to the room, we got a goldfish cracker party. We watched "The Magic School Bus Gets Planted" while we munched on some goldfish crackers. Yum! In Spanish, we learned about the jungle with Sra. Colmenero. To end the day, we had Star of the Week again. Marin shared a silly joke and we read our letters to her. Then we packed up Friday Folders, gave out prizes for twenty super star sticks, and lined up for home.

There is no school on Friday, so have a great three-day weekend!
